PBI Tennis Programs Again Rank High

The Woodlands, Texas  – Peter Burwash International (PBI) is pleased to announce the inclusion of sixteen PBI programs in Tennis Resorts Online’s (TRO) annual rankings of the Top 75 Resorts and Top 25 Tennis Camps.

The rankings are compiled by Roger Cox, owner and publisher of TRO, a website offering reviews of resorts and camps written by both himself and the site's readers. Cox, a former Tennis magazine travel editor who has covered tennis for over 30 years, started TRO in 1999.

“The best sources of information about a tennis resort or camp experience are the players who go there on vacation,” says Cox. “But these aren’t ordinary players. They spend an average of 100 days a year on court, which means that they have high expectations of the staff and programs.”

The 2012 survey divides the results into the Top 75 Tennis Resorts and the Top 25 Tennis Camps. Rankings were determined by rating the overall tennis experience in 12 categories, from resort lodging and restaurants to teaching staff, tournaments and game matching. To be eligible, a tennis resort must have six or more tennis courts.

A record number of seven PBI-directed resort programs earned a “Gold Medal” spot in the Top 25. Nine other PBI affiliated resorts were listed between #26-75. Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt in Austria is one of only two destinations to rank in the Top 10 in both the Resort and Camp sections. J.W. Marriott Desert Springs ranked #1 globally in Tennis Programming, and the Four Seasons Nevis and Caneel Bay were the top 2 resort properties in the Caribbean.

“A ranking from Tennis Resorts Online is one of the most coveted annual recognitions for any resort tennis program,” explained Peter Burwash, President of PBI. “We so appreciate the many guests who take the time to submit their comments and evaluate our tennis programs. The high rankings of so many PBI-staffed resorts encourage us in our ongoing quest to offer great tennis in a great resort setting. We are particularly pleased to see Silverado Resort and Westin Mission Hills, properties which signed with us just last year, on this prestigious list.”
