PBI Signs with Hayman in Australia

Australia’s premier private island resort, Hayman, has retained the services of Peter Burwash International (PBI) to direct its tennis program.

Recently re-opening in early August, Hayman now features four newly-refurbished tennis courts (three artificial grass and one hard) alongside 210 beautifully appointed rooms, suites, penthouses, beach villas, four world class restaurants, the Spa Hayman health and spa facility, a golf driving range, squash courts, a children's activity center and extensive meeting facilities.

“Our goal at all times is to protect and enhance Hayman, its brand and its enduring reputation for providing world-class facilities and experiences, culinary excellence and warm, genuine service. As part of this goal, we are thrilled to welcome on board Peter Burwash International to direct Hayman's tennis program.” States Lloyd Donaldson, Mulpha Head of Hotel Investments and Managing Director for Hayman.

“Hayman is one of the most unique destinations in the world,” said Peter Burwash, President of Peter Burwash International. “PBI is honored to be able to provide the guests of this resort with exceptional tennis programs and services.”

Located on the Great Barrier Reef, the five-star resort has recently undergone extensive reconstruction and regeneration following the impact of cyclones Yasi and Anthony earlier in 2011.

During the period of closure, Hayman engaged celebrated designer, horticulturalist and personality, Jamie Durie to replant the damaged garden landscapes and create a new beautiful botanic garden setting which included the addition of 33,000 new plants and 327 new plant species.

Major works were also undertaken throughout all other affected areas of the resort including the accommodation, restaurants and activities areas.

After landing at Hamilton Island airport, guests transfer to the resort by their choice of Hayman's private fleet of luxury motor yachts, private helicopter or seaplane.

PBI has appointed John Ciarleglio as Tennis Director. Prior to arriving at Hayman, Ciarlegio was Head Professional at the InterContinental Muscat in Oman.
